Return of the Zoe

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is coming back to your living room August 3rd. Last season, her assistant Taylor split from the nest, and I’ve been reading all over about her new stylist business and celebrity clientèle. I know I’ll definitely be watching (though, online), but I’m not sure if I’ll watch the whole season (loss of interest and more things to do with my friends are possible excuses).

Though I don’t wish to replicate all that she wears, she has achieved something many of us (or maybe just me) wish to do: have a defined personal style.

Will you tune in?

You Only Live Once

It’s been a while since I heard this song by The Strokes, but it’s really upbeat and is great closet organizing music, which is what I’ve been doing in my spare time. I’ll post pictures of my new apartment in about a month, when I’m done buying furniture =)

Shoe Designer Lust

If I could be best friends with one shoe designer, it would probably have to be Brian Atwood. Why? Well, he seems to understand the way to make a proper heeled shoe, but isn’t as trite as say Louboutins or Manolos. Celebrities, fashion editors and people in the know have worn his shoes for almost a decade. I love the classic shape his heels tend to always have, and the fact that he was a model!

Name Change

I’m really considering changing the name of this blog (and adding more [non-fuzzy] personal pictures!!).

I’ve got a small list going, but I want to know what you think I should call the blog. I was thinking a one word name or a two word-er at most. And something clever or witty…this could take a while!

Help me out!

Harper’s Bazaar

22 year old Harley Viera- Newton was featured in Harper’s Bazaar for her fashion sense. Harper’s is big on showcasing fashion by age group and these two have been featured in other fashion publications, so I thought it was cool to see them again. Harley’s a student at NYU and a DJ for Dior Beauty. She’s a huge fan of Tom Bins and claims him as a style icon. I love that she mostly wears dresses and skirts!

Editor at Large for Pop Magazine, Shala Monroque (of St. Lucia), was also profiled. Here you can catch a glimpse of her style aesthetic, as she is very drawn to bright colors and bold prints. She’s been featured on the Sartorialist, in Essense Magazine, on WhoWhatWear, and plenty of other popular fashion sites and magazines. She also has really amazing skin!

she also has a blog, which I peruse every now and then, especially on dark rainy days.

Would you ever…

wear the latest nail polish trends?

I actually think I might try yellow nails, but the idea of nails this color is completely unappealing.  Also, I don’t know if i’m willing to part with $6-$9 for an item I may never use again (depending on the results of course, but it’s post recession time). What about you? What colors are you trying this summer?
