Today I turn 23 and I couldn’t be more excited!
As gifts, I got a new dress from Diane von Fursternberg, a brown pair of classic Stuart Weitzman pointy pumps and some freebies from Aveda and Sephora (join their birthday programs if you haven’t already!).
I avoided throwing a party or big dinner since I’m new to this city, but serendipitously a friend of mine decided to throw a Mardi Gras cocktail party tonight which should be a lot of fun.
This year, I’m going to focus on experiences with loved ones and growing as a young professional. I’m so blessed to have a job and great people around me; I just want to make sure that I enjoy it all!
I’ve been MIA for the past few days because my academic/social calendars have been jam packed! I’ve also recently started studying for my GMAT exam which I plan to take in a couple of months, so not much free time for me.
For my birthday party, I ordered this dress from Nasty Gal and the fit was great, which is a first (glad I didn’t have to make any returns). I decided to have a signature drink and a pre-party by candlelight to get people ready to have a great night. And it worked! I love being 22.
I decided it was about time I got a new handbag and this green snakeskin one just happened to be on sale at Nordstrom. I’ve never had snakeskin in my closet before and really need to read up on how to take care of it. The necklace is from Nasty Gal and is amazing! I love that I can wear it with just about anything and it adds the right amount of sparkle to my outfit.
Even though we decided not to exchange presents this year (we’re shopping around for a DSLR), my boyfriend got me the orchids for Valentine’s day, along with a bright red Moleskine journal for jotting down my ideas. Love him!
I’m turning 22 soon (two weeks). I spotted this dress on the Nasty Gal site and can’t wait to accessorize it. It’s a cotton blend material so I’ll definitely be warm. Can’t wait to post pictures from what should be an amazing night!
This blog was started a year ago and it’s come so far! Time to celebrate and I hope to post more personal style pics next week
Btw, I had an awesome Thanksgiving, but didn’t do much shopping on Black Friday. I did, however, pick up a nice silk top by Cynthia Rowley for $15. Not bad if I do say so myself.
Amazing friends, Amazing food, Amazing night.
