Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (Wishlist)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale has arrived! I was so excited to receive my email that new fall merchandise would be sold at discounted prices between July 19th and August 4th! The sad new is, I have always miss this sale. Every year, I mark my calendar and for some reason or another, just can’t commit to buying anything during the two week timeframe.

I always say that I’ll just stalk my favorite items and buy them at lower prices at the end of the season. However, this risky strategy has caused me to miss out on some really good deals. Also, since I tend to wear less popular sizes, I usually don’t find things in my size after a few months. I’m not going to make this mistake again! And since Christmas is only 5 months away, why not find gifts now?

These are my favorite items from the sale:

Skirting the Issue

Now that it’s officially spring and I’m starting to edit my closet, I have realized that I need more skirts! I tend to wear pants and dresses but want to have more options in the morning and switch things up.

In my opinion, skirts rarely get much attention in fashion, but they’re such an easy way to add style to one’s look and versatility to one’s wardrobe.

Though I don’t have many skirts, I prefer to wear pencil skirts primarily during the work week and flippy skirts on the weekend.

Life’s starting to get really real. I’m graduating from college in 7 days and will start my career as a strategy consultant in a few months! Thus, I’ve decided to make  list of clothing and accessories I’d love to own in the near future.

I’ve wanted to inject certain colors into my wardrobe for a while now. I’m still in search of the perfect mango-y yellow shade, along with some heather grey. The last few things I still need to purchase are jeans (I just lost a pair of Vince pants this week due to a nasty rip) and a dress for graduation!

The past few weeks in pictures

I’ve been MIA for the past few days because my academic/social calendars have been jam packed! I’ve also recently started studying for my GMAT exam which I plan to take in a couple of months, so not much free time for me.

For my birthday party, I ordered this dress from Nasty Gal and the fit was great, which is a first (glad I didn’t have to make any returns). I decided to have a signature drink and a pre-party by candlelight to get people ready to have a great night. And it worked! I love being 22.

I decided it was about time I got a new handbag and this green snakeskin one just happened to be on sale at Nordstrom. I’ve never had snakeskin in my closet before and really need to read up on how to take care of it. The necklace is from Nasty Gal and is amazing! I love that I can wear it with just about anything and it adds the right amount of sparkle to my outfit.

Even though we decided not to exchange presents this year (we’re shopping around for a DSLR), my boyfriend got me the orchids for Valentine’s day, along with a bright red Moleskine journal for jotting down my ideas. Love him!

Early Christmas Presents!

I got the shoes I posted on this blog and a few other things this month. I can’t wait to wear them when the weather warms up! My boyfriend also surprised me with this Voluspa candle from Anthropologie. It smells just like what I’d expect a cabin in the woods to smell like, Christmas.

Happy Holidays!

Final Christmas Wishlist

I can’t believe Christmas is only a week away. Many of my non-student friends have completed their holiday shopping by now. And what am I up to? Studying for exams and writing research proposals! Don’t worry, I have had some time to do a bit of online window- shopping. Here’s what I’m “wishing” for:

A little notebook for jotting down business ideas

A high all-season black sandal

A Felix Rey snakeskin clutch

A wool pencil skirt for my first real job! (Starts next fall)

Suede shoes in one of the most flattering colors

A silk blouse from Madewell

Earrings to brighten up my all- black ensambles
